It's Christmas time! We're all excited to start decorating our homes and making them feel a little more festive. But unfortunately, this time of year can feel bittersweet when it comes to finance. Due to the cost-of-living crisis here in the U.K., it can be hard to afford even the most basic holiday decorations - and that's why we're here.

At Emilie's Botanicals, we understand that our customers want to make their homes feel special this Christmas, but they also need to find ways to save money.

That’s why we’re introducing our new Journal segment: DIY Décor. And for our first post… Introducing: Christmas Stars! These decorations will add a touch of elegance to your holiday decor. They're perfect for those who love minimalist or natural themes, or for those who just want to make some special homemade gifts for friends and family. This DIY decor guide will walk you through how to create your own star decorations using simple materials that are readily available in any craft store or online.

You will need 25 circular wooden beads of your preferred colour, clear nylon thread, scissors and jute string. Once you have all of your materials, this project should take less than an hour to complete. Let's get started.

          1. String ten wooden beads onto the clear nylon thread.

    1. Close it with three knots to create a circle.

    1. String another two beads and thread as per the picture below.

    1. Continue this around the whole circle.

    1. Let’s now create the third row! String one bead and thread as per the picture, continue around the whole circle again.
    2. Once complete, fasten with three knots.

We hope you enjoyed our Christmas activity! We would absolutely love to see your beautiful decorations, so make sure to send them to our social media.

    Love, Emilie’s Botanicals ❤️🎄
